Additionally family members have served on the boards of many community organizations, including Island Harvest, the Long island Association, United Way’s Project Warmth, the Nassau County Police Department Foundation, and Molloy University’s Energeia Program. And many people will recall the Northville Long Island Classic Champion’s Tour golf event that raised over $1,000,000 for Cohen Children’s Hospital, which earned Northville a prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the category of Social Responsibility. Other acknowledgements of the family’s commitment to Long Island include two awards from the Long Island Association: The Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award for Community Service and a Lifetime Achievement Award.
In the NY metro area NIC Holding Corp is best known for its subsidiary Northville
Industries, a petroleum storage, distribution and wholesale company.
The terminal complex, comprised of 1.4 million barrels, stores and distributes refined
products both for Northville marketing and for other companies. The marketing division
sells heating oil, gasoline, diesel, and kerosene, and is especially proud of its
commitment to renewable fuels—including B5 to B20 blends of heating oil and diesel, as
well as Ethanol Flex Fuel, a high level ethanol-gasoline blend containing 51-83% ethanol depending
upon your geographical location and season, for Flex Fuel vehicles.
Northville has sold over 55 million gallons of Flex Fuel, reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 110,000 metric tons compared with gasoline blends containing the usual 10% ethanol.
NIC Holding Corp’s most significant activities include the domestic and international purchase, sale, and exchange of cargoes, barges, in-tank transfers and pipeline shipments of petroleum products. In addition NIC takes positions on regulated commodity futures exchanges and is a corporate member of the New York Mercantile Exchange. of Petroterminal de Panama,
a Panamanian corporation that operates petroleum storage facilities on both the
Pacific and the Caribbean coasts, and an 80 mile pipeline that connects the 2 terminals.
